We are incredibly satisfied! Our New England Coastal, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island road trip was epic. We realized that our itinerary was going to be challenging and that we could not do it very well alone. Dustin met with us initially and listened attentively as we outlined where we wanted to go. He asked pertinent questions such as what specifically we wanted to see, what type of hotels we liked, how many hours of driving from one accommodation to the next would be acceptable, did we want him to make airline, car and excursion reservations. He put together a preliminary itinerary and presented it to us. With few tweaks to the preliminary plan he then gave us choices of accommodations at each stop in our itinerary. He found amazing accommodations which were exactly what we like, Bed & Breakfasts & Boutique hotels. He made our reservations at these accommodations then put together the whole itinerary plus vouchers on an app for our phones. This app is the absolute best! Dustin taught us (2 incredibly non-techy people) how to use the app which is very easy. I have had huge amounts of paperwork on our previous trips but only needed the app on this one. HOW LIBERATING! Dustin was available during our trip also in case of any issues which was comforting. I would use Dustin again in a heartbeat!👍️

My wife and I thought Dustin did a great job of "calming the nerves" ahead of the trip. I had been to Europe several times, but my wife had only been to Paris and that was 40 years ago. In preparation for the trip, Dustin provided her some reassurance about the mechanisms of the travel, airport transfers, what happens to your luggage, etc. All of his insights were spot on. Although we were on a packaged Viking cruise, we had booked travel in advance with plenty of time off at the front end of the trip in Prague. His app was very helpful. He also gave us a great tip on which room to choose aboard ship which saved us some money and was very convenient. First piece of advice - if you are going on a Viking Cruise (well, or doing anything over in Europe), take a few days on the front end to acclimate to the time zone shift. The first day we were sort of loopy. We could not imagine arriving in Europe and immediately being hustled to the ship. Once you arrive aboard, it is go-go-go and there is not much time to adapt. BTW, Prague... LOVED IT! We spent 3 days ahead of the cruise there and could easily spend another 5. Very enjoyable city, beautiful architecture, wonderful people. Our best memories are not necessarily the famous tourist sights, but little restaurants and coffee shops tucked away and off most tourists paths and our interactions with the Czechs. Learn a few useful phrases and everyone will love that you are taking a stab at their language, and then be happy to speak to you in English - most folks are fluent. And even if they are not, they are friendly and helpful and with a few smiles you will be able to get what you want in stores and restaurants. The Museum of Communism was a surprise to us. I had seen it in guidebooks, but my wife was not enthusiastic. However, one of the Viking guides recommended it, and we were glad we went. It details the experiences of the country for the past 150 years or so, and you walk out understanding why these folks are so proud of their country and happy to be independent. Viking Cruise (Romantic Danube, Regensburg to Hungary). We are not experienced cruise people. Other than several aboard Navy ships - this was my first one. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. We spoke to some folks who preferred ocean cruises who were somewhat disappointed - not as much nightlife, no casino, restaurant choices, shows, gym,... Well. We thought that was crazy talk - WE LOVED IT! It was exactly what we hoped for, and a bit more. To us, there was never a dull moment. Plenty of excursions, and we purposely avoided being overscheduled (Dustin seconded that idea) so we could take advantage of a day to explore on our own pace in Vienna - and we were so glad we did. We got up close to some Klimt paintings in a side museum that was far less crowded than the main Belvedere, and then we found a little cafe where we were surrounded by locals - not another tourist to be found - our favorite kind of place! Be aware, after the bus from the ship drops you off for a tour, you will need to walk. This is not the Appalachian Trail, but there are some steps, inclines, and long walks. Fine with us. We were doing 7,000 to 14,000 steps a day. But be aware - some folks were seemingly unprepared for that. Final recommendation - Dustin is great, Viking Cruise Lines is wonderful. You may wonder why you would deal with an actual travel agent when you can just do everything on the internet. Well, the answer is piece of mind. He answered a lot of questions and helped us find some good deals. His app was very helpful. Although Viking does have a detailed app that is updated daily while you are aboard ship, it does nothing for you when you are not actively on the cruise. Dustin's app is more encyclopedic. I highly recommend his services.
