I've learned many things from sessions with Therapist Renee Olson. I did not realize how poor my posture was.
She prescribes exercises that will help me with posture that she and I know needs adjusting to improve balance, strength, and appearance.
She suggests starting with part of the exercise I can do, doing that part consistently, then adding the rest of the exercise until I successfully work up to doing the complete exercise as many times as the menu prescribes. This gives me a feeling of accomplishment, though it's slower than I'd like because I have neglected exercise, and proves to me that consistent exercise is necessary. She has me work on a menu until the exercise routine becomes familiar and easy to follow.
When I can competently do an exercise, she prescribes another exercise for that part of the body - similar but exercising additional muscles that help that part of the body function better.
Being in this program has made me think about posture and how my furniture and my daily activities influence good and poor posture.
