Excelente café!

I have been waiting to leave a review because I was hoping that this place would improve since opening day. I understand this place was just recently opened and I have visited multiple times hoping that things would get better as time passed but that hasn’t been the case. I had a goal to try everything on the menu but it always seemed like there was no consistency with their products. I would try the same drink 2-3 times and then move on to another new drink but the taste and quality of drinks were always random. There is a nice, tall, Hispanic gentleman working there that always has an amazing attitude and only he seems to be the only one that knows how to make any beverage. He always recommends how he’d make coffee for himself and so he makes his own creations which are NOT on the menu. Maybe there’s lack of training or who knows why there’s such inconsistency in taste and skills among the baristas. Not to mention the pastry section. It seems that the flavor for pastries are all the same no matter the cake I get. There can be a cake that is pistachio flavor and another that is vanilla but somehow they both taste similarly bland. They keep saying that there’s going to be a lunch menu but still no luck with that. This shop tends to be nearly empty all the time and it kinda makes sense to why that is I can only compare this shop to a library because it’s super quiet and very empty so you can definitely get some work done. Other than that, no syrups, no real food and no consistency in quality. Sorry to say but I don’t think I’ll be coming back or recommending this place even though I’m walking distance to it.

This place is the best coffee shop in the area. Wonderful ambience. Fabulous service. Delicious coffee and tea. The owners did such a good job with it. 10/10 recommend!!

Waited a very long time to have order taken and get our coffee because there was only one barista working. Very expensive, especially for cake (I’m talking $10 for a slice of cake).

Always discovering new flavors. The coffee/tea drink selection is good, and everything we tried so far is richly done. This is a go to place for quality snacks and extraordinary sweets.

Beautiful shop with excellent coffee. I’d put Black Fodder up against the best the city has to offer. A true gem in the OPRF area.

Love this place! Absolutely great service. The barista was very hospitable and kind. Loved how they had a selection of delicious cheesecakes and some high protein options!

Best espresso in OPRF

Finally. A traditional coffee shop that serves delicious coffee. Such a small cute coffee shop, had no idea it was right around the corner from where I live. If you’re a traditional cappuccino lover, they only offer one size and it’s an amazing cappuccino. They do not over tamper their beans so the coffee is not bitter at all. Perfect coffee! I I’ll definitely be back!

Black Fodder catered with a cold brew and espresso bar at our company today, and I was incredibly impressed! I usually order a vanilla latte at other establishments, but I ordered a simple espresso latte with oat milk from the baristas today. Their espresso is delicious, no flavor needed! I'm hoping they open a brick and mortar storefront soon so I can order again!

I was blown away by how good the coffee is here! Some of the best pour over and espresso I’ve ever had. And a quiet, comfortable atmosphere, too! Highly recommend.

Wow. I am so happy this place is in the neighborhood. Finally coffee that is worth the money! It is so delicious, and run by a family who just seem lovely. And the atmosphere is just great. Stylishly decorated, leather couches, wooden slats - it’s really really comfortable and nice to spend time there. We will be coming here a lot this summer and beyond!

This is an updated review after managment handled a little issue so well. I had been in previously and was very surprised by the size of the teeny iced mocha I received. Well, the management contacted me and after a discussion I knew it was a fluke that the barista grabbed the wrong cup. I went back today, and had the "real" iced mocha...it was adult sized, and the taste was amazing. I also really appreciate how the management reached out to figure out what happened and went out of their way to make things right. The atmosphere is also super cute, and it seems like a great place to hang out - unfortunately, I have only run in and out at lunch break. Give this place a try!

Best coffee ever! Very nice people and a relaxing atmosphere!

The atmosphere and the service are AMAZING, but that’s about it. I’m not a coffee lover so I got some of their pastries/desserts and they were not good. The cinnamon muffin tasted ok but the texture was gummy/chewy. The tiramisu was weirdly acidic/tart and not in a good high percentage cacao way, just acidic. The mango cake was ok but didn’t have any specific flavors, it tasted good enough but I couldn’t pinpoint what I was tasting. Overall the vibe was great and the attention even better, I just wished the products were on that level too. TLDR: Great vibes, not great food

We live four blocks away. So far my wife has been a few times and has liked the coffee so far. Yesterday we bought a slice of the "high protein choco cake" and today brought it to a family gathering for a member of our fam who has celiac and can't eat normal birthday cake. One of the absolutely worst things I have ever tasted in my life. Poor guy had 3 polite bites and pushed it away from him. I then tried it and couldn't believe it. For $10. Dreadful stuff. Then there is the name. "Fodder" comes from Old English meaning "food" but in modern use it means grain you feed to farm animals like horses and cows. On military requisition forms they would have bullet points for "x lbs of butter, x lbs of bread, x lbs of fodder, etc". In this context, fodder worked its way in to the term "cannon fodder" which described the front line or expendable troops you sent running in to the opposition to take the brunt of cannon fine. Basically, the term is used for a person or thing that is easily expendable or exploitable. To call a restaurant "black fodder" is insane to me. It's clear the intended reference is to a coffee being a staple thats also black but the cultural context is hard to ignore. I'm sure you guys are nice hardworking people but the cake and the name need second drafts.

My husband and I just discovered this amazing new coffee spot, and we absolutely loved it! The coffee is divine—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. The modern decor is beautifully designed, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. And the cake? Incredible! Delicious, made with wholesome ingredients, and served in a wonderfully generous slice. A true hidden gem—we’ll definitely be back!

My new favorite shop. I'm worried that seating will decrease as people learn about the shops existence. But I love the owner, he made me a flat white and it was amazing. He talked to me about the coffee itself and gave me a tailored experience, and considering I'm not really a coffee guru that matters. There's not many shops that can nail customer service and drinks. So this is one that I want to hold on to.
